Fans of Netflix's You are absolutely cringing over the 'I Wolf You' phrase being used yet again in the latest season. Watch the season three trailer below:

Users have branded it 'the most unnecessary line' and don't think it really works with the theme of the show.

Joe (Penn Badgley) and Love (Victoria Pedretti) say it to one another in season two, episode five 'Have a Good Wellkend'.

Lying in bed holding a toy wolf, Love says: "Can I tell you I love you yet?" to which Joe replies: "Whenever you're ready.

"In the meantime, let me say. I love you, Love. It's a complicated word. Is there another word we can use? Our word?"

Love then jokes: "I wolf you. I like it. It's like your part of my pack."

Joe then responds: "I am your pack."

However, fans didn't think it would make another appearance in the latest series.

One user wrote on Twitter: "I was watching the new season.

"Minding my own business.

"Then I hear. I w*lf you.

"WHY."

A second user added: "The most unnecessary line and totally takes you out of the moment.

"The line needs to be retired. Never should have existed to begin with."

Another user commented: "Literally screamed when it was said I was so angry I was ready to put MY ballcap on and do some k*lling."

"Right it ruined my experience," someone else claimed.

A final user concluded: "Same! it caught me off guard and I had flashbacks to *that* episode in season 2."

The highly anticipated third season returned to our screens yesterday (15 October) as Joe and Love welcomed their new child and have seemingly sacked off all the murdering for a quiet life in the suburbs.

But of course, Joe is soon back on the stalking and this time, the object of his obsession is his neighbour Natalie (Michaela McManus).

This goes about as well as expected, with Love clearly not taking Joe's wandering eye lying down.

If you've already binged season three, Netflix announced it has now commissioned a fourth season of the hit TV series.

You can watch season three of You on Netflix now.
