Little Women and Black Widow star Florence Pugh stepped in to defend her friend Bella Thorne when she was attacked by trolls on social media.

The 25-year-old, who is in a relationship with Scrubs actor Zach Braff, posted a ravioli dish she'd made on Instagram.

She captioned it: "Two Sleepy people indeeeed. Mild chilli tomato sauced ravioli with a white wine, butter and herb poached lobster filling. NAUGHTY.

"P.S. yes this vid is from last week, but I mean... when is home made ravioli not relevant?!"

Bella, 23, commented: "OMG please come over and make food."

But the replies to Bella were less than friendly, with some telling her to 'be gone'.

Pugh wasn't having any of it though, responding to the comments by writing: "To all those negatively trashing Bella, I do not appreciate it or like seeing people being unnecessarily dragged on my page.

"My page has NEVER been about that and I don't like seeing it."

Thorne caused controversy last summer among sex workers for her OnlyFans account, which she said she used as a way to reduce stigma around the industry.

Pugh has been praised before for her positive approach to social media, not least by her own fella late last year.

Zach Braff said she gave 'intelligent and articulate' response to trolls who criticised their age gap relationship.

The 45-year-old Scrubs star went public with his relationship with Pugh - who was 24 at the time - in 2019, after meeting while working on short film In The Time It Takes To Get There.

Sharing a cute post to mark Braff's birthday in April, Pugh was forced to turn off comments after trolls decided to share their opinions on the couple's relationship.

In response, Pugh posted a lengthy video in which she said she wouldn't put up with 'bullies' posting on her social media profile.

Meanwhile, Braff didn't speak out about the trolling over their age gap for months.

In an interview with Mr Porter, he said: "She literally sat down, hit record on her phone and said that.

"I thought: how could I possibly follow anything as intelligent and articulate as that? So, I chose not to."

Fair point.
