Greggs has finally provided the perfect solution to every northerner's hungover dilemma of whether to stay in bed a few hours longer or leave the house to get a pasty.

The bakery is now trialing a new delivery service with UberEATS, meaning you will be able to get your hands on those sausage rolls without ever leaving the house.

The service launched in Newcastle on Monday and is available through the UberEATS app.

Delivery will be available within a mile of participating Greggs stores and will cost £2.50 ($3.32) per order with no minimum spend required.

The Greggs' menu on UberEATS will include: breakfasts, hot and cold drinks, bakes and sausage rolls, freshly-prepared sandwiches, salads and cakes.

Sadly for anyone unlucky enough to live outside of Newcastle, there are not yet plans to roll out the trial beyond the city. However, they say if it is successful then they say they could look to expand to other locations.

People have been wanting the service for a while:

It goes to show dreams can come true.

Roger Whiteside, Chief Executive at Greggs, said: "When it comes to food-on-the-go, our customers tell us that convenience is key. We've been working hard to take Greggs to where our customers need and want us to be, including office parks, industrial estates, retail parks and travel hubs. More recently, we have also launched our office delivery service (from selected stores) and opened our first drive-thru.

"Online ordering and delivery is something that we are often asked about and we are excited to confirm that we have launched a trial of this new concept to customers in our home city of Newcastle upon Tyne. This latest innovation will enable customers to enjoy our great tasting, good value food wherever they are, offering them the ultimate convenience."

Mathieu Proust, General Manager of UberEATS, added: "We're thrilled to be working with Greggs to offer home delivery of their food for the first time in the UK. With our UberEATS app, anyone can order the food they want with the speed and reliability they've come to expect from Uber."
