The former leader of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, has died, according to the BBC, age 95.

Zimbabwe's education secretary Fadzayi Mahere released a tweet saying: "Rest In Peace, Robert Mugabe."

His family has confirmed that he died from ill health.

He was ousted from his presidential position two years ago during a controversial military coup.
