Forty Men In 'Maskinis' Crash Bondi Beach In Borat 2 Stunt

Beachgoers in Bondi, Australia, were given a shock when 40 blokes in 'maskinis' rocked up for a yoga session. You can watch footage here:

As if this wasn't enough to confuse onlookers, a helicopter also swung by and dropped a huge Borat statue at Mackenzies Point.

Borat himself, Sacha Baron Cohen, then appeared via video link 'from Kazakhstan' to explain what exactly was going on.

He said: "It give me great pleasure to present you with this giant Borat erection at Bondi Beach.

"This statue was quarantine in a hotel in Melbourne for 14 days. It is free of Covid but probably have syphilis after four of your security guards make sexy-time with it."

He continued: "I love Kazakhstan. I love America. But both these countries have very bad virus at this moment, so instead we come to Australia, where people have not heard of this Covid the 19th.

"I make this film so everybody knows the prodigious bribe we proudly deliver to the American Regime. I do this to make benefit the once glorious nation of Kazakhstan.

"It is not really for Australians, but you can watch. I hope you like to watch."

The shenanigans were of course to promote Borat 2, or to use its full title, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.

The sequel to the 2006 hit is due to be released on Amazon Prime tomorrow (Friday 23 October), and with the film only officially announced last month, the publicity team are pulling out all the stops to get the word out there.

As we speak, a massive inflatable Borat is cruising through London on the River Thames - maskini-clad, naturally.

If it's not already, you should make sure the film is on your weekend watch list. Like the first, it will make you laugh and it will make you squirm.

It sees the Kazakh journalist return to the US with his daughter, played by the little-known but outstanding Maria Bakalova. Together, the pair execute a host of damning and cringeworthy stunts, which could be as impactful as they are amusing, with the US election less than two weeks away.

In an article for TIME, Baron Cohen wrote: "While filming my latest Borat film, I showed up as a right-wing singer at a gun-rights rally in Washington State. When organizers finally stormed the stage, I rushed to a nearby get-away vehicle.

"An angry crowd blocked our way and started pounding on the vehicle with their fists. Under my overalls, I was wearing a bulletproof vest, but it felt inadequate with some people outside toting semiautomatic weapons.

"When someone ripped open the door to drag me out, I used my entire body weight to pull the door back shut until our vehicle manoeuvred free.

"I was fortunate to make it out in one piece. The next few weeks will determine whether America will be so lucky."
