Australia's High Court has granted disgraced Cardinal George Pell leave to appeal the conviction given to him for child sexual abuse.
The Catholic Church's former third highest ranking member is serving a six year jail term for abusing two 13-year-old choirboys in Melbourne's St. Patrick's Cathedral in the late 1990s.
The ABC reports the hearing won't likely happen until next year, however it will give the 78-year-old one last shot at overturning or at least changing the terms of his conviction.

He was the highest ranking member of the Catholic Church to be convicted of such crimes.
Pell was sentenced in March to serve at least three years and eight months.
He has tried to overturn the result before but was knocked back by the Victoria Court of Appeal in August in a 2-1 ruling. Pell decided to take the matter higher to Australia's High Court to see if he could win a last ditch effort - and it's paid off.
