Catching a 33 pound fish is no mean feat for anyone. Even the best anglers with expensive kit would probably count it as a decent haul.

But one four-year-old girl has gone and outdone everyone. The novice fisher was going about her business, fishing with a kids Frozen-themed rod, when she went and landed a huge 33 pound catfish.

As seen in the video, Josie was with her mum and dad, Ashley and Steve, at the lake in Illinois, USA. They notice something take a bite, and after a bit of a battle, the creature is hauled out on to the jetty.

They have to use a net to get it out, and others standing near them are truly shocked by its size.

An excited, and adorable, Josie declares the fish is slimy. She then proudly declares she's taller than the fish.

One of the onlookers standing near her says: "I cannot believe you caught that."

People murmur in agreement, shocked at the little girl pulling out a catch that probably weighed more than she did.

Josie herself only weighs in at 30lbs, so catching it was certainly an achievement.

Although it was a very good effort, it pales in comparison to the record breaking carp catch reported last month.

That's one big fish.

Brit John Harvey caught the humongous fish, which weighed in at a whopping 232lbs, or 16-and-a-half stone, or 105kg... or one really big bloke.

The 42-year-old, from Westleigh, Devon, spent 80 minutes reeling in the beast, breaking the previous world record set for a Siamese carp by 10lbs.

He caught the behemoth in Thailand, where has lived for the past 14 years.

Mr Harvey said he immediately knew it was a big one, adding that the pictures do not truly convey the sheer size of it.

Speaking to Devon Live, he said: "It was a reasonably quiet day for fishing. Then, at around 4.30pm the cart rod screened off so I ran over to the rod, and straight away felt it was a really big fish. I've done fishing for a while now and you can tell if it's big or not from the bait.

"It was very slow, hard, heavy fish. I had to hang on to it for one hour 20 minutes which was pretty nerve-racking. It might seem a while but sometimes it can be four or five hours stood there holding the rod.

"It was amazing. I've never caught a carp that weighed over 100lbs before. It was absolutely enormous, the pictures do not do it justice at all."

Josie might have a way to go before she gets one this big, but she's definitely off to a cracking start.
