Gregg Wallace has revealed that his wife told him not to get 'too muscly'.

The MasterChef host, 55, admitted that he was inspired to get into shape for his 33-year-old missus, Anna, with whom he has an 11-month-old son, Sid.

But despite losing three stone and showing off his new ripped physique, Gregg told Mail Online that she doesn't want him to pack on too much muscle.

The television presenter said: "Falling in love with a much younger woman is incentive to look after yourself.

"I am very aware she is 22 years younger than me. But saying that, she doesn't care.

"The only thing she does say is 'don't get too muscly, I don't like all the veins!'"

Last year, Gregg took to social media to show off his new look, posting a selfie revealing his washboard abs.

Praising his efforts, one fan wrote: "You're an absolute unit Greg, complete legend."

While another added: "Whoa I thought you liked pudding Gregg?! Must be the healthiest pudding on the planet!"

But his incredible transformation didn't come overnight, it actually began way back in 2017 when he started hitting the gym and eating better food.

He told The Sun: "When I was at my biggest I was having a daily fry-up, fish and chips once per week, takeaway a couple more times and drinking beer nearly every day.

"I made a conscious decision to cut down on fried and high sugar foods, as well as booze - which helped me lose weight."

As well as being healthier generally, Gregg's slimmer figure also means he will be able to keep up with his little lad.

Speaking about the moment their 'miracle' baby Sid was born, Gregg said: "I was far more scared this time than when I had Tom and Libby [his children from a previous marriage]."

Giving away more detail than any of us would ever wish to know, he continued: "I went down the business end and watched the doctors pull Sid out.

"I saw him take his first breath; it was just beautiful. I looked at him and thought he was perfect."

And he spared no expense in celebrating Sid's birth, revealing that he went out on the lash with his pals. Nicely done.

Speaking to OK! magazine, the 54-year-old said: "I hired a private dining room and ten close friends came, including John Torode.

"We started at midday and finished at 10pm. The bill was well over £2,000!"
