Greta Thunberg has weighed into the bushfire crisis that is gripping parts of Australia.
There has been a lot of criticism directed at the federal government for not doing more to get ready for what was expected to be a pretty horrific bushfire season.
The Swedish 16-year-old has written on Twitter that it's this inaction we continue to see in countries around the world.
She wrote: "Not even catastrophes like these seem to bring any political action. How is this possible?

"Because we still fail to make the connection between the climate crisis and increased extreme weather events and nature disasters like the #AustraliaFires. That's what has to change. Now."
She was responding to a video tweeted by Channel 9 showing a 'ring of fire around Sydney is as angry and as frightening as we've seen'.
The terrifying footage showed a massive inferno from the Blue Mountains in New South Wales encroaching on properties in Lithgow.
Another fire has also captured the attention of people across the planet as it seemingly climbing up the face of a cliff.
The video clip was shared on the @Bluemtns_explore Instagram page, which has been mapping and documenting the Australian bushfires, with a caption that read: "All fire fighters are currently tackling blazes across the top of the mountain (Mt Vic, Blackheath, Mt Hay, Leura).

According to 9 News, the footage shows a blaze that's part of a 10,000 hectare fire currently burning along the Grose River, which has been spreading out from the 460,000-hectare mega-fire in the Gospers Mountains.
Because of the way the flames are hugging the cliffside, it almost resembles lava flowing from a volcano.

Kobe Bryant, 24, who filmed the footage, told 9 News that the fires were the biggest to ever hit the region. He said: "These fires are unprecedented. This is bigger than 2009 and 2013. This is the biggest fire Australia has ever seen, and the Blue Mountains has ever seen."
The Gospers Mountain bushfire formed back in early December, when three fires merged, with Bryant saying the Grose Valley has 'just been decimated'.

Bryant, who works with several other locals to share insider tips about the Blue Mountains region, said that the New South Wales Rural Fire Service is in urgent need of help, and that workers are 'tired and exhausted'.
