Groom-To-Be Slips Over Seconds Before Proposing To Partner

He had a ring in his pocket ready to go – but before he was able to do anything about it, nature took things into its own hands

An unfortunate groom-to-be had his magical moment almost ruined when he slipped and fell over just seconds before his romantic proposal.

Maria Gugliotta had been hanging out with her partner Logan Jackson in Grand Haven, a city on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan.

Unbeknownst to Maria, Logan had a ring in his pocket - but before he was able to do anything about it, nature took things into its own hands, forcing him onto the ground prematurely as he slipped on some algae.

As Logan tried to walk down a short slope into the water where Maria was, his foot hit a patch of sludgy seaweed and he toppled to the floor.

As Maria walked over to see if he was okay, Logan then styled it out and got onto one knee, whipping out a ring to ask for her hand in marriage.

Thankfully, the brief moment of clumsiness hadn't scuppered his chances too much, as Maria said yes and planted a big kiss on him as people nearby cheered.

She later shared the clip on Facebook, writing: "He fell so hard he popped up with a ring!!! I'm so excited but first I have to stop laughing."

Many other people found the video equally hilarious, with one person commenting: "This is the best video ever lmao I watched this like 5 times haha best memories. Congratulations to you both."

Someone else wrote: "This is too funny. Congrats to you both!!"

While another Facebook user said Logan was clearly 'falling hard' for Maria, a fourth joked: "If 2020 was a wedding proposal."

When someone else asked if Logan had hurt his, ahem, derriere when he fell over, Maria replied to say that thankfully only his arm was bruised.

Their friend replied: "I'd imagine so!!! Looked like it hurt really bad. At least he didn't hit his head tho."

As well as being a hit with Maria and Logan's family and friends on Facebook, the video has also gone viral elsewhere after being shared on various other platforms, including Barstool Sports' TikTok account and the That's It, I'm Proposal Shaming Facebook group.

Well, at least the proposal will always be one they'll remember, eh? No doubt Logan's best man will be on hand to whip out the clip during the speeches on the big day...
