We've all felt like a new person after a haircut, right? That's something that outreach programme TheMensGroomer Foundation understands perfectly well - just watch the video below to see the incredible transformation of one homeless man after he received a quick trim.

The foundation posted the clip to its Instagram page alongside the caption: "This is what THEMENSGROOMER foundation is all about! Being out on the street doing haircuts for people and maybe being in the right place at the right time w/ the message of recovery in order to change somebody's life.

"Ready and willing to get back at it when it's safe!"

The man in the video, referred to as 'Michael', is described by the foundation as 'struggling with addiction'. Here, he receives a haircut, a shave and a bite to eat, while TheMensGroomer's Jason Schneidman talks to him about his own similar experiences of life on the streets.

Upon learning that Michael is 30 years old, Jason replies: "Brother, I was 34 years old when I showed up for my life. I had nothing - I had warrants for my arrest, bad credit, I was 130lb, on crack..."

While Michael looks shocked, Jason then explains that 'it's not too late', adding: "You've got something more to offer yourself, bro. Life."

TheMensGroomer Foundation was set up on the principle that 'a haircut can change someone's life'.

Its mission statement reads: "A haircut can change a person's appearance, instill confidence and allow someone to reach for opportunities when they thought life had passed them by. This is about second chances to anyone willing to do the work.

"While on the streets, Jason has found that those struggling with drugs and alcohol addiction are the ones that he can help the most. He is able to connect with them, because he has been there himself. Jason is working with rehabs of his choice providing funding through the sales of his products.

"The work that needs to be done is not easy, it takes time, but these people are worth it and hopefully we can just help one at a time through our efforts. If we all do a little, we can help out a lot. TheMensGroomer Foundation is creating a community to help people get off the street, and back on their feet."

Jason was previously homeless and overcame drug addiction. But now, in his spare time, he helps out the homeless of Los Angeles, providing free haircuts as a means to connect with those who may be battling addiction issues, and funds scholarships to rehab centres.

Not only does it work with people living on the streets, the foundation also collaborates with rehabilitation facilities in California, providing funding through the sales of Schneidman's products, which you can find here.
