Either some rare natural phenomenon has hit or we're about to face the apocalypse (probably the latter), as hundreds of dead birds were spotted falling out of the sky on a Welsh island this week.
Understandably baffled onlookers on a road near Llyn Llywenan, Bodedern, witnessed the flock of starlings flying overhead.

And like something out of a Hitchcock film mixed with Saw, one hour later they were inexplicably falling out of the sky in their droves with their guts hanging out.
Dafydd Edwards managed to capture a video of the unusual incident after his partner, Hannah, noticed the birds on her way back from a doctor's appointment yesterday (10 December).
When she explained what had been going on, Dafydd decided to go and have a look see for himself as he 'didn't believe her'. Charming.
He was soon eating his words, telling North Wales Live: "My partner spotted it when she was on the way to the doctor's yesterday late afternoon.

"She said she saw hundreds of them flying over and thought it looked amazing, but on her way back around an hour later they were all dead in the road.
"I didn't believe her so I went to see for myself. It's very strange, I can't put my finger on it.
"There are still some alive in the hedges today but it's all unexplained at the moment."
The footage, captured on his phone, shows Dafydd walking amongst the birds as he tries to figure out just what the heck is going on.

Looking like a scene from a horror movie, wind blasts in the background as the camera pans out to show a long stretch of road - peppered with dead birds as far as the eye can see.
To try and shed some light on the situation, the couple contacted the North Wales Rural Crime Team and the Animal and Plant Health Agency. However, looks like they're no closer to an explanation than before.
PC Dewi Evans told North Wales Live: "Many of you will have seen on social media a video going round of an incident on Anglesey where numerous starlings have been killed. We don't know how it's happened.
"We're just outside Bodedern here by Llyn Llywenan and as you can see on the road here there's approx 225 dead starling on the road itself and many others on the hedge along the side of the road but no starling apparent in the fields either side which is very strange.

"We've got officers from the animal and plant health agency here who are going to seize some of these starlings with a view to having them examined to look for poison for example or any other thing that might have killed these animals.
"It happened yesterday evening at around 3:40pm so if you have any information or if you might have seen it happen here because it is very strange, please let us know."
