An Instagrammer has come under fire from social media users after referring to Greta Thunberg's recent UN speech as 'so damn cringe', also questioning whether climate change would 'stop coz of her crying'.
Singaporean blogger Xiaxue - whose real name is Wendy Cheng - took to Instagram on Wednesday to comment on the recent events, following the UN Climate Action Summit in New York earlier this week.
The 35-year-old make-up and lifestyle influencer has 607,000 Instagram followers, and a further 242,000 subscribers over on YouTube.

Having previously expressed her love for US President Donald Trump, the blogger is now turning up the controversy dials once again.
Sharing a Time article about Thunberg's powerful speech, Xiaxue wrote: "Omg this is so damn cringe.
"Can we please just stoppit with these young kids who are so freaking passionate over issues that they view so one dimensionally.
"And who cares what children think, seriously, when I was a kid I was an idiot and all these kids are starry-eyed hopeful idiots who say simplistic things like 'Why can't we just not have wars'."

She added: "Is climate change gonna stop coz of her crying? Let me know if it happens ok?"
But after Xiaxue lashed out against Thunberg and her fellow 'starry-eyed' climate activists, she soon found out not everyone agreed with her, with many social media users condemning her 'close-minded' words.
Tweeting a screenshot of her Instagram Story, one person wrote: "Her entire 'thing' is just a pretty girl who loves being controversial. That's how it's been for 15 years or whatever. Can't believe she's still relevant."

Another person commented: "Honestly Xiaxue is so f***king ignorant. Greta doing more than she ever could."
A third said: "Greta T is such a conservationist icon, she's singlehandedly keeping xiaxue relevant."
Someone else added: "Omg I thought trump's comment about Greta was stupid... until @xiaxue came along lol."
But despite the wave of backlash, Xiaxue didn't stop there - instead using the comments as yet more fire.
Launching into another Insta-rant on Thursday, she addressed the haters by saying: "You're a slacktivist and a hypocrite.

"You care about plant Earth go do your part..but hey as long as it's not at your inconvenience right? What's the bare minimum amount to do before one is not considered a jerk?
"Is it not using a straws? Is it not supporting Greta when she is crying? Coz you know, I can pretend to agree with her and repost her s***t and say 'Hear Hear she is so brave' like every other influencer out there."
