Instagram this millennials. A new survey by booking website Hotels.com has revealed that millennials - on average - use six days of annual leave a year to do admin.

As reported in The Independent, the study of 2,000 found that a quarter of those polled spent their time off doing boring tasks such as waiting for packages and household chores.

Personally, I find waiting for packages thrilling and love cleaning, but that's just me. In essence, the report suggests we're working our tits off and having to use our precious free (read: holiday) time to do stuff we'd be able to do if we weren't being treated like workhorses.

Note: I say we. I'm a freelance journalist. I mean you, the hardworking taxpayer who would get a bollocking for taking 'time off' to go to a doctor to get that lurgy checked out, and then another bollocking because you gave it to everyone in the office, including Jim from accounts.

The study found that a number of people resent needing to book time off for special occasions, 14 per cent of them highlighting weddings in particular, 10 per cent hen and stag dos.

62 per cent felt they'd wasted annual leave, while 42 per cent ultimately end up not taking all the holiday days their entitled to, presumably due to work pressures or pressure from above not to take time off.
