Joe Biden has won swing state Wisconsin, a key victory as votes continue to be counted for the US Presidential election.

It's a major milestone in a closely fought contest between the Democrat candidate and incumbent President Donald Trump.

Wisconsin is the second state to be flipped from the Republicans after Biden won Arizona earlier today.

Biden won 49.6 percent of the vote in Wisconsin, beating Trump by a margin of 20,517 votes.

After Trump won key battleground states Florida, Ohio and Texas, the Democrat victory in Wisconsin means Biden is still in with a fighting chance of removing Trump from the White House.

The Trump campaign signaled earlier today that it would demand a recount in Wisconsin, with campaign manager Bill Stepien saying in a statement: "There have been reports of irregularities in several Wisconsin counties which raise serious doubts about the validity of the results.

"The President is well within the threshold to request a recount and we will immediately do so."

However, with a margin of more than 20,000 for Biden, it's widely believed a recount will not change the result.

There is no evidence of the 'irregularities' in Wisconsin voting Stepien refers to.

Addressing his supporters in Delaware yesterday (3 November), Biden said he was 'on track' to win the election.

The 77-year-old said: "Good evening. Your patience is commendable. We feel good about where we are."

He went on: "We knew this was going to go long, but who knew we would go into maybe tomorrow morning, maybe even longer!

"But we feel good about where we are. I'm here to tell you tonight we believe we're on track to win this election.

"It ain't over until every vote, every ballot is counted."

While it's still too early to say who will win the election, Trump prematurely declared victory this morning, while making unfounded claims of electoral fraud.

Speaking at the White House, the incumbent President said: "We were getting ready for a big celebration. We were winning everything.

"This is a fraud on the American public. This is an embarrassment to our country.

"We were getting ready to win this election. Frankly, we did win this election."

He went on to demand that 'all voting be stopped', despite the fact there is no evidence that votes were being made after the polls closed.

Adding: "We will be going to the US supreme court. We want all voting to stop."

With key states Nevada and Michigan still to be declared, the closely fought presidential race continues.
