Khabib Nurmagomedov says he thinks Conor McGregor should 'go to jail' after allegedly assaulting an elderly man in a Dublin Pub.

Speaking to TMZ Sport about the alleged assault, the 'Eagle' blasted his rival, claiming the government should 'smash him' and that his actions are 'very bad' for the sport.

This comes after footage emerged which appeared to show the Irishman lashing out at a stranger in the Marble Arch pub on 6 April this year.

He said: "These people, they have to go to jail. I told you, this guy have no class. No respect.

"This is very bad for sport. Some things he doing good for sport, but right now he without his mind. He lose his mind. It's crazy.

"Government have to smash him. This is my opinion. 'Cause I'm really, really mad about this video. I don't understand how you can punch old man."

He added: "Today he punches, like, old guy. What's gonna happen tomorrow?"

Khabib went on to criticise the US Visa system, questioning why he and other Russian fighters struggled to get one while 'bulls*** guys' like McGregor didn't.

He said: "Us guys from Russia have problems with visas, but why don't these bulls*** guys have problems with visas in the USA?

"How can USA can give him visa, respect and job?"

TMZ claims McGregor went into the pub and lined up glasses for patrons at the bar, intending to fill each with free shot of whiskey - specifically, his whiskey, Proper Twelve.

One man chose to opt out, twice rejecting the cup McGregor placed in front of him, supposedly angering the MMA fighter.

Video footage shows a man believed to be McGregor throwing a punch at the man, striking his head, before two people grab him and pull him away from the bar.

The Irishman allegedly assaulted a man in a Dublin pub earlier this year.

UFC boss Dana White has also had his say on the alleged attack.

Speaking on The Jim Rome Show to promote UFC 241 this weekend in Anaheim, White said: "That happened in April. I knew that happened; they just got the video. It's pretty bad.

"Not allegedly, it's pretty clear [it's him]. So, apparently this was in a pub in Ireland and it was an argument over whiskey. Conor has a whiskey now and it was an argument over the whiskey and Conor reaches out and hits him with a left hook.

"I don't know the context of it. I don't know the entire story, but he punches a guy, an older man, in the face.

"I knew that he had had an altercation at a bar, but I didn't know with who or any of that, I didn't know anything, I just knew it happened."

LADbible contacted the Garda, who confirmed that an investigation into an incident was ongoing but no arrests had been made.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Gardaí are investigating an assault incident that occurred at a public house in Drimnagh, Dublin 12, on 6 April 2019 at approximately 2.30pm. Investigations ongoing in relation to this incident and no arrests have been made to date."
