Lil Uzi Vert says that fans tried to rip out a large implanted pink diamond from his forehead during a recent concert.

The American rapper claims he jumped into the crowd at last month's HipHop festival in Miami, and the diamond - which he claims to have bought for $24 million (£17.3m) - was dislodged from his head.

Uzi told TMZ: "I had a show at rolling loud and I jumped in the crowd and they kind of ripped it out."

When asked how he was feeling, Uzi responded: "I still have the diamond, so I feel good."

The artist had his diamond installed in his noggin in February, with many people at the time assuming he had been joking when he said what he was up to.

Uzi took to Instagram to show off his rock - as you'd expect, fans were quick to comment.

One user commented: "Thanos is on his way bruh."

While a second user added: "My guy wearing the last infinity stone."

A third fan simply wrote: "I'm lost for words."

Since Uzi had the unique piercing done, fans have understandably wondered how safe it is to have such a large and complex piercing so near the brain.

But speaking to Rolling Stone earlier this year, Simon Bebaev, a spokesperson for Eliantte & Co - the jewellers behind the implant - said that actually, it's as 'safe as any other piercing'.

"As long as you maintain it well and have good upkeep, it's perfectly fine," he said.

"We made sure that prior to getting anything done that Uzi brought someone in to consult on everything. We didn't just do this randomly."

Is it actually safe though?

"In the body modification world, they usually do everything in stainless steel, or surgical-grade steel. But in our case we did everything with precious metals," explained Bebaev.

"We engineered a specific mounting that clips and locks in place. There's a whole mechanism involved, it's not a standard piercing. A specific piece and part were both engineered with millimeter precision to get this put on him."

With such a statement piece of jewellery right there on his forehead, fans have also questioned what the Philadelphia rapper is worth. But the result may surprise you.

It's currently estimated that Lil Uzi Vert is worth $25m (£18m) in 2021, so the pink diamond on his face is worth almost as much as the rapper and all of his assets. Fair enough.
