Reports are coming in that it was a woman and that she has been taken to hospital for her injuries.

There are severe Central Line delays after the incident.

Emergency services attended the scene at around 8:40am and an air ambulance was sent to the location.

Nick Colantonio, a commuter, told the Evening Standard: "I was walking from Holborn to Oxford Street and I saw several ambulances, police and firefighters.

"The junction between Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street was jammed but the situation was under control."
