A 93-year-old man has been arrested after shooting an employee at his Las Vegas apartment complex after a dispute regarding water damage in his home.

According to news3lv.com, Robert Thomas was caught on camera approaching the lobby area at the Vista Del Valley apartments with a complaint about water damage and flooding.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department released a video of the incident, in which Thomas can be seen approaching a male and female worker inside the management office.

In a press conference, Assistant Sheriff Brett Zimmerman praised the speed and bravery of the officers.

He said: "They heard the shot, and the key was the officer told this partner they had to make entry due to the possibility of any more people being injured or killed while inside that apartment complex office, not knowing what they had."

Dressed in a black overcoat and hat, Thomas, who has no criminal history, entered the room, carrying a Glock 9mm.

According to the police department, an employee called 911 after Thomas began to make threats.

The dispatcher on the phone then heard the threats and sent two officers to investigate.

CCTV footage shows him fire a warning shot at the wall, which goes straight through a computer screen, with a third staff member making an exit.

Thomas allows the female staff member to leave, before aiming the gun at the manager's leg, firing another round. The manager falls to the floor, just as police arrive, hearing the gunshot inside.

Standing over him, Thomas watches him on the floor, before taking a careful aim and firing another round in to his other leg.

Seconds later, an armed officer runs in through the door, shouting at the suspect to drop his gun, with police shattering the glass door.

A police officer fired a shot through the door, penetrating the lapel on Thomas' jacket but somehow not injuring him.

Police then took Thomas to the ground to arrest him, injuring his head on the glass in the process.

Thomas and the victim were both taken to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The elderly man faces charges including attempted murder with a deadly weapon, kidnapping with a deadly weapon, discharge of a firearm within a structure, burglary with a firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon.

The incident happened just a couple of blocks away from the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, where the World Series of Poker's final table is played every summer.
