A man has gone viral after hilariously telling a bodybuilder he'd be bigger than him in a month - only to bump into him a year later, pulling up his top to jokingly show off his physique.

Fitness coach Matt Greggo (@mattgreggo) originally ran into an elderly gentleman in what looked like the loos at his gym.

Greggo had been standing in the toilets topless - as you do - when the stranger came over to him, confidently saying he would be 'bigger' than him within a month.

But it looks like the two didn't end up seeing each other a month later, or the many that followed after that, eventually stumbling upon one another a year later.

A topless Greggo was stood in the same place filming himself when the man shuffled behind him.

"No way!" he said, before turning to the man and saying: "Remember me?!"

The man replied: "I remember you!"

Greggo then said: "One month, right?"

In a TikTok video, Greggo also shared their original exchange for context, saying it had been filmed the year beforehand on '11/2/20'.

In the 2020 clip, the man strides up to Greggo and tells him: "Wait for me, one month? I'm gonna look even bigger than you."

Smiling, Greggo replies: "Okay!"

Fast forward to the year later, and the two are unexpectedly reunited in the same location.

In the 2021 footage, Greggo explains to the man that he had become 'famous' online after their initial chat, as he regularly shares videos of the conversations he has with fellow gym-goers on TikTok.

"I mean, you're famous," he says, laughing.

The man's arm then enters the frame, giving Greggo a fist bump, before he comes in front of the camera to show off his 'transformation'.

Lifting up his t-shirt, he flexes his muscles and poses alongside Greggo, as the two smile into the camera.

As the man leaves, Greggo says: "Thank you, have a good workout!"

The surprisingly heartwarming exchange has since racked up an incredible 7.7 million views, along with one million likes and thousands of comments.

One person said: "My man stuck to his promise."

Someone else wrote: "The smile he gave when he recognised you is so genuine."

A third begged: "Train him!! That'd be cool!!"
