Isles-English allegedly fled the scene but was arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm on Monday night.
He was in Brisbane Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, where he was seen pacing, sobbing and hitting his head on the glass dock. He told a woman in the public gallery: "I love you, mum." The woman mouthed !I love you" back, but refused to speak when approached outside court.
Isles-English's lawyer, Brendan Beavon, asked for the case to be adjourned and did not have anything to say outside the court either.
The case has indeed been adjourned until Monday, 15 August but police are now considering whether to upgrade the charges.
