In the wake of the horrific mass-shooting in El Paso hundreds of people arrived at blood donation centres to help victims.
Authorities tweeted out a message urging people to visit a local donation centre to give blood as hospitals dealt with victims and people rushed out to donate.
The tragic mass-shooting saw a gunman open fire in Walmart, killing 20 people and injuring 26 others.

As victims were rushed to hospital, El Pas Police Department tweeted to say: "Blood needed urgently. Multiple injured transported to various hospitals. Blood donation centers Vitalent Blood Services at 424 s Mesa Hills and 133 N Zaragoza."
While people flocked to help out, one man arrived at a blood bank with pizza for those queuing up. How nice is that?
In footage shared online the unnamed man can be seen approaching the queues of people with pizza boxes and offering slices to the anyone who wants one.

Reporter and KTSM anchor Sandra Ramirez said people also arrived with packages of bottled water and Gatorade for those waiting in line.
After the clip was shared online, it was quickly flooded with praise from social media users.
One person wrote: "It's a shame something so awful has to happen to see some humanity being reported. Thanks for posting this and thanks to all those volunteers!"
Another said: "People in this world are inherently good. Thanks for posting this bit of sunshine in a very cloudy, sad day."

While a third person added: "Beautiful sentiment given the horrific day it has been there."
The response to the request for blood donations was so strong that staff from Vitalant blood bank told Ramirez that they had to turn people away and ask them to schedule an appointment for later in the week.
El Paso Mayor Dee Margo told Fox News the local community is 'outstanding' and 'generous'.

He added: "They're out giving blood, they're visiting, they're having vigils. This is just not going to define us."
He shared a similar message on his official Twitter page, posting: "This is a tough time for El Paso. My condolences and prayers go out as we mourn those who have been impacted. Adair and I, with the rest of El Paso will pray for our victims and honour their memories together. Our community will not be defined by this senseless act of violence."
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump tweeted to condemn the gunman, writing: "Today's shooting in El Paso, Texas, was not only tragic, it was an act of cowardice.

"I know that I stand with everyone in this country to condemn today's hateful act. There are no reasons or excuses that will ever justify killing innocent people.
"Melania and I send our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the great people of Texas."
A suspect has been arrested and remains in custody.
