American Man Shows What British Pub Looks Like In US

The man from America seemed to wind up quite a few of his British followers after they very much disagreed with the state of fish and chips

An American man has shown his TikTok followers what a British pub in the US looks like. You can take a look below:

Danté Bernard captioned the clip 'went to my first British Pub' and he seemed to be pretty excited.

He says in the video: "I just got out of class, I'm hungry."

After second guessing himself, he asks: "I've got British friends. I've got some British people that watch the channel right? I hope so."

Bernard then steps into a pub, which is literally named 'British Pub'.

To be fair it actually looked pretty similar inside to what we're used to seeing in the UK.

The TikToker hesitantly asks the waiter: "I'm not from this part of town, per se, but I want to experience the British experience."

And he did just that, kind of.

Bernard goes and orders a light Irish lager with some fish and chips.

However, this is when things start to get controversial.

When the chippy arrives at the table it looks... let's say, very questionable.

Firstly, the chips are, in fact, fries, which is a bit of a disgrace.

Secondly, the batter on the fish was far too thick.

From a Northerner's point of view, the dish definitely looked like it was cooked from someone who isn't familiar with a 'typical chippy', i.e., a Southerner.

The users in the comments section weren't too impressed either.

One user wrote: "Sorry that does not look like fish and chips at all!

"A lemon? We had scurvy for a reason."

A second user wrote: "You need to try mushy peas with your fish and chips next time lol."

A third user added: "As a British person I am offended they are selling those as chips, they are fries. You have been lied to my friend."

A final user pointed out: "You've actually got the vibe of the pub but the fish & chips need work."
