Medical Workers In Colorado Block Lockdown Protesters

Medical workers in Colorado have hit back at protesters who have gathered to call an end to the state's lockdown restrictions.
Like many other regions in the world, people in Colorado are being advised to stay at home. Two healthcare workers who must have seen first hand the havoc that Covid-19 has caused peacefully counter-protested, standing in the road to block the oncoming cars.
The medics, dressed in scrubs and N95 masks, could be seen blocking the procession of motorists who were beeping their horns outside the State Capitol building, where laws are made, hoping to challenge the rules.

Speaking to The New York Times, photojournalist Alyson McClaran - who posted images of the medical workers' actions on Facebook - said: "They were blocking the roads until the police force stepped in. People were putting their cars right up against them."
The video of the incident shows a woman in a t-shirt, with an American flag on it shouting to healthcare workers out of her window, saying: "Go to China if you want communism.
"You can go to work why can't I go to work?"
The nurses didn't seem to respond, but just stood in their way with their arms folded.
Holding a sing that read 'Trust the people', one protester believes the shutdown of the state has gone on much too long.
Mary Conley of Jefferson County, told The Denver Post: "Pot shops are open, abortion clinics are open and my church is closed."
She added: "Death is a part of life. And it's time to start living again."
Another protester, Jim Fenimore, of Colorado Springs, said: "I don't want anyone to see anyone die. But there are far more deaths for other reasons."
The news outlet also reported that many of the protesters were wearing hats and t-shirts in support of President Donald Trump.
Although some were wearing masks, it said that not many people practiced social distancing measures that have been brought in to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus.
So far, the state of Colorado has 9,730 confirmed cases of Covid-19, and has reported 422 deaths from the disease.
