Melania Trump has been caught on camera appearing to walk away from a photo op, as she and her former president husband landed in Florida earlier this week.

The Trumps decided to snub Joe Biden's inauguration on Wednesday (20 January), instead jumping on a plane to head to the Mar-a-Lago estate.

After leaving Washington, D.C., in a sombre dark outfit, Melania burst out of the aircraft in a colourful retro patterned number, clearly more than ready for a few mojitos in the Floridian sun.

Reporters were ready on the runway to catch the Trumps as they landed, though it seems Melania simply wasn't in the mood.

As Donald paused to pose for a few pictures, she glided off in her kaftan in one swift movement, making an immediate beeline for the car.

Many people have shared the clip on social media to joke about what Melania was thinking on the day, with one writing: "Melania said: My contract to pretend ended 7 min ago."

Someone else said: "Melania when it's 12:01 and her shift ended at 12:00."

A third joked: "Melania is totally done. She already quit posing."

Comedian Janey Godley also shared the video on Instagram, complete with a spoof voiceover that said: "Okay, I'm away to see my pal at the pilates class somewhere in my mammy's wallpaper from the sixties, it's beautiful.

"Don't touch me, don't come near me, I'm outta here. F*** off. Open the door, Frank! Get me away from here."

Before Donald Trump flew off to Florida, he threw himself a little celebration at Joint Base Andrews.

Speaking for the last time as President, he said: "This is a great, great country. It is my greatest honour and privilege to have been your president.

"I will always fight for you. I will be watching. I will be listening and I will tell you that the future of this country has never been better.

"I wish the new administration great luck and great success. I think they'll have great success - they have the foundation to do something really spectacular, and again, we put it in a position like it's never been before, despite the worst plague to hit since, I guess you'd say 1917 over 100 years ago.

"And despite that the things that we've done have been just incredible, and I couldn't have done it without you.

"So just a goodbye, we love you, we will be back in some form."

Trump added: "Have a good life, we will see you soon."
