A singer who competed on Mexico's version of The Voice has been left critically wounded and fighting for his life after someone shot him in the head three times.
Alejandro 'Jano' Fuentes was getting ready for his 45th birthday celebrations with friends when a gunman shot him as he tried to leave his studio in Chicago.
NBC Chicago reports the gunman had tried to drag Fuentes out of the car prior to shooting him.

Fuentes of course resisted getting out of the car but when his friend's life was endangered, he got out of the car only to be shot anyway.
He was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital just after the shooting at around 10pm where he is still currently fighting for his life.
The gunman fled and has yet to be identified. Police do not have a suspect in custody.
The shooting comes just a week after The Voice star Christina Grimmie was shot dead as she signed autographs in Orlando, Florida, following a gig.

Miguel Sanchez, a close from of Fuentes, told ABC7: "He's fighting a big battle for his life.
"We are feeling confused and we have no explanation why all these things are happening."
Sanchez believes the shooting was not random as he believed the men who shot Fuentes had been waiting for him.
Another tragedy. Let's hope Fuentes can pull through.
