A pregnant model has been killed by a train while taking part in a photoshoot.

Nineteen-year-old Fredzania Thompson died on Friday in Navasota.

Miss Thompson was standing between two sets of tracks when a train approached. She moved out the way but was unaware of a train approaching in the opposite direction.

She became stuck and was hit by the train during this photoshoot.

The photographer was unhurt.

Union Pacific spokesman Jeff De Graff told the Navasota Examiner that the driver of the train had alerted them by sounding his horn and had attempted an emergency stop.

Navasota Assistant City Manager Shawn Myatt told the paper: "Burlington Northern had a train on their track coming and she turned back to the east to walk across the Union Pacific track and walked right in front of the Union Pacific train that was heading south."

Hakamie Stevenson, Miss Thomson's mother, told The Eagle that her daughter, who went by the nickname 'Zanie', had put her studies on hold to pursue a career in modelling.

A GoFundMe page has been launched to help raise money for her funeral.
