Multiple People Killed In High School Shooting In Florida

A shooting in a high school in the United States has left 'multiple victims' dead and injured.

Police are attending the incident at Majory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, after a shooter opened fire with a gun at just after 2pm local time when students were being dismissed from school.

The local sheriff's office has confirmed that the shooter is now in custody although the scene is still active. They have said that there are at least 14 victims.

"There are numerous fatalities. It's a horrific situation. It's just a horrible day for us." Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie told CBS. "We have no evidence at this point there was more than one shooter."

Live video from the scene has shown at least five people being treated at the scene while students were being evacuated from the school. However, there are reports that many more have been shot and injured.
