A single mother-of-two received £100 through the post by a complete stranger so she can treat her kids.

Nicole Tierney is a copywriter from Gloucester and took to social media to reveal the 'random act of kindness' she received.

The envelope read: "Random act of kindness. Please pay it forward."

Nicole captioned her post and wrote: "Open letter to the incredible person who posted this through my letter box this morning.

"We don't often give enough credit to the good in this world.

"There's so much hate and hostility floating around that we regularly forget just how wonderful people can be. This £100 means SO much to me and my family.

"I've been a solo mumma bear for over five years and struggled a lot with finances, leading to me not being able to give my sprogs all that they deserve.

"For someone to be so insanely thoughtful to give £100 of their own money to a stranger... it honestly has restored my faith in humanity! From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

"I've spent all day thinking up ways to pay it forward, if anyone has any suggestions let me know! X."

It's always great when you receive a nice gesture from someone, especially when you least expect it.

A woman who 'blurted' to her delivery driver that she was having a bad day was amazed when he left her a thoughtful gesture:

Sharing the random act of kindness on TikTok, she explained what had happened, showing screenshots of their chat.

She called it a 'modern day love story', which got her followers hoping it would be the start of a romantic tale.

The TikTok video reads: "I blurted to my delivery driver that I was having a bad day."

The screenshot of his message read: "Sorry to bother you it's the delivery driver, I'm not trying to hit on you or be awkward but lunch is on me today.

"I put your money in your mailbox, hopefully, this is able to change your bad day and slowly turn it toward a good day. Enjoy and be safe!"

Julia replied to his kind message, saying: "Hiii omg that was the nicest and sweetest thing ever. You really didn't have to do that, I'm still in shock lol, but I really appreciate it & it honestly made my whole week, not just my day, thank you so much."
