A funny mum expertly trolled her student daughter who wrote off her car, by replicating the crash site on her birthday cake.

Samantha Stone, 21, from Nottingham, managed to swerve off the road, ending up in a ditch. Thankfully, Samantha had no injuries, but the same can't be said for her car - which was beyond repair.

Her mum Alex wasn't best pleased that she'd written off her brand new car, which was bought for her by her grandad, but of course, was relieved she wasn't hurt.

But Samantha wasn't let off the hook that easily. When Alex arranged a surprise birthday party for Samantha, she decided to make sure the whole family got a visual representation of the embarrassing crash.

Samantha, a student, said: "I was trying to get to an eye lash appointment in the morning but the roads were a bit slippy and as I turned, the wheels spun out and I went straight into a tree.

"I was absolutely fine, luckily I only had a bruised knee.

"I told my mum about it and that I was ok but she obviously wasn't pleased about the car being ruined.

"We had planned a party the following weekend and my mum invited my whole family who all turned up.

"Then the lights went out and in front of everyone my mum brought out this cake while everyone was singing happy birthday.

"I was so shocked at first, I was so upset about losing my car so she said she would make me a special cake but I didn't realise just how 'special' it was going to be.

"I was like 'Oh my god, that is what you've done' then I just burst into laughter.

"She's such a comedian, always trying to get one over on all of us so I should have realised it. The worst part is my grandad who bought me the car knew nothing about it.

"It went well and luckily my grandad was OK, he was just happy that I was OK and we all had a big laugh about."
