Newly published documents have shed more light on the final gruelling days of notorious child sex trafficker Jeffery Epstein, who died of an apparent suicide in prison whilst awaiting trial for numerous high-profile sex crimes.

According to the documents, Epstein spent his final days in jail battling constipation, living in fear of the deadly MS-13 gang and being unable to sleep due to his cellmate's incessant chattering.

The 2,000-page report, recently obtained by The New York Times just days before Epstein's co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell is set to start trial, claims that Epstein had expressed frustration over the living conditions at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City.

But he seemingly had no intentions of committing suicide before being found dead in his prison cell on 10 August 2019.

Epstein was accused of a string of child sex offences.

"Mr. EPSTEIN was alert and oriented. He was polite, calm, and cooperative in demeanor," the report reads.

"...There was no evidence of perceptual disturbance, delusional ideation, or a formal thought disorder... Mr. EPSTEIN explicitly denied recent and current suicidal ideation, planning, and intent."

In fact, Epstein even managed to convince his psychologist that he had much to live for, even going as far as to describe his life as 'wonderful', despite his impending criminal trial.

However, the former financer was nonetheless vocal about some of the issues he faced while behind bars.

These included sleeping issues due to his talkative cellmate, not getting his constipation medicine when requested, getting annoyed by the running toilet in his cell, not liking his orange jumpsuit, and feeling unsafe among the 'many MS-13 gang members' in his initial unit.

Despite being eventually taken off suicide watch, Epstein was found dead in his cell shortly afterwards.

Although the coroner officially labelled his death as a suicide, many conspiracy theorists remain to this very day who are convinced Epstein was murdered in an effort to prevent his testimony against his high-profile associates.

These suspicions were fueled by a number of bizarre circumstances surrounding Epstein's death, which include malfunctioning prison cameras, inattentive prison guards, and the fact his cellmate was transferred just hours before he died.

Despite this, the post-mortem report claimed Epstein's death was likely the result of several factors, including "the lack of significant interpersonal connections, a complete loss of his status in both the community and among associates, and the idea of potentially spending his life in prison."

Although there are many rumours surrounding Epstein's death, the report is keen to dismiss any notion of foul play, stating rather definitively that: "Jeffrey Epstein definitely killed himself."

"Any conspiracy theories to the contrary are ridiculous," one of the inmates said in an email to psychologist.

"He wanted to kill himself and seized the opportunity when it was available. Such is life - or death, in this case."

Epstein was arrested on 6 July 2019 on federal charges for the sex trafficking of minors in Florida and New York, and the case was still pending at the time of his death.

Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to procuring an underage girl for prostitution and of soliciting a prostitute in Florida. Despite federal officials having evidence from 36 girls, some as young as 14 years old, after less than 13 months in jail he was released for a year of probation on house arrest, until August 2010.
