A new Netflix series from the creator of The Haunting of Hill House is coming to Netflix on 24 September, and the creepy trailer has got us a little bit excited. Watch the teaser below:

Our expectations are pretty high for Midnight Mass, the latest Netflix series from The Haunting anthology's Mike Flanagan.

Despite the lack of information in the teaser, it shows you just enough to keep you guessing.

The synopsis reads: "Midnight Mass introduces Crockett Island, an isolated island community that experiences miraculous events - and frightening omens - following the arrival of a charismatic, mysterious young priest."

Flanagan said it's his favourite project so far, giving some insight to his fans in a letter shared on Twitter.

He said: "I'm just going to admit it... Midnight Mass is my favourite project so far.

"As a former altar boy, about to celebrate 3 years of sobriety, it's not had to see what makes this so personal. The ideas at the root of this show scare me to my core."

The cast includes Rahul Abburi, Crystal Balint, Matt Biedel and Zach Gilford.

The Haunting of Bly Manor stars Alex Essoe, Kate Siegel, Henry Thomas and Rahul Kohli also return for the new series, along with The Haunting of Hill House's Annabeth Gish.

Fans are pretty excited about the new project.

One user wrote: "Love that they kept some cast from Haunting of Hill House/Haunting of Bly Manor to continue on this new series... love the story of previous series and this will hopefully be worth the wait."

A second added: "What a throwback poster and Mike Flanagan can do no wrong. Take my money Netflix."

Some users were weirdly enough having an argument about the poster.

One user said: "Really excited for Midnight Mass but this is not a good poster."

Whilst a second user responded: "This is a fantastic poster. What are you smokin bro?"

News of the series also left fans of Hill House wondering if there were any plans to carry their stories on.

Sadly, however, Flanagan revealed there weren't.

He told one fan: "No plans for a new HAUNTING series... "
