Having released her YouTube documentary I Am Paris last year, she attempted to play down her previous public image while explaining why she had been 'playing a character all along'.

Paris seemed eager to ditch her previous image, claiming she wanted fans to know the 'real' her.
Becoming one of the most well-known celebs in LA's socialite scene of the 2000s, her high-profile friendship with Kim Kardashian, her assistant at the time, was well documented.
She later went on to star in her own reality TV show, The Simple Life, alongside childhood friend Nicole Richie.

Her public persona seemed to be the definitive Paris Hilton - but it seems that wasn't the case.
Speaking to 7News while promoting the documentary, Paris said: "This entire time I have been playing a character so the world has never truly known who I am."
She added: "I feel it's time for the world to finally know how I was. I feel that I've been through so much."

Paris went on to explain that she wants to change her 'legacy', saying: "The real me is someone who is actually brilliant. I'm not a dumb blonde, I'm just really good at pretending to be one.
"I don't want to be remembered for some airhead, but the businesswoman I am."
In both the interview and the documentary, we hear Hilton speak in an uncharacteristically deep voice - a stark departure from the higher-pitched tone for which she was known - which promoted many people to take to social media in shock.

Following recent speculation that Paris was carrying a baby with fiancé Carter Reum, she was quick to shut down rumours and addressed the topic in her This Is Paris podcast.

She revealed: "I woke up to about 3,000 texts. All my iPhones are blowing up, all five of them. Everyone wishing me congratulations and so happy for me. I've heard from people I haven't heard from in years."
Paris also clarified: "I'm not pregnant. Not yet. I am waiting until after the wedding."
