A former high school PE teacher has been arrested after she was accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.
Sarah Katherine Brooks - who taught at a school in Georgia, USA - was charged with a felony count of sexual assault by persons with supervisory or disciplinary authority on Friday, according to jail records from Gwinnett County Jail.
The student's mother said the 25-year-old teacher had sex with her 17-year-old son on numerous occasions during off campus tutoring, including on one occasion in the family home, according to AJC.

On Tuesday morning, the school principal sent a letter to parents advising that a police investigation had been launched after the school became aware of the alleged sexual relationship. Brooks resigned shortly afterwards.
The letter read: "On Monday we received a report about this situation and our school immediately contacted the police and the school district's Division of Human Resources.
"As this has been and continues to be an active police investigation there are not many details I can share. However, I can tell you that the teacher has resigned from Gwinnett County Public Schools and the school system will be forwarding information about these allegations to the Professional Standards Commission.
"While this is not a situation we have experienced at our school previously, one time is too many. Ethics matter, and the trust our community places in its educators matters to Archer and to Gwinnett County Public Schools. This is not something we take for granted."
