​People Are Relentlessly Mocking The Letter Trump Has Left Joe Biden

We have no idea what he’s written – leaving the wild imagination of social media users to speculate

The people of Twitter have taken it upon themselves to imagine what Donald Trump's letter to his presidential successor Joe Biden might look like.

It's customary for outgoing presidents to leave a friendly note to their replacement when leaving the Oval Office, with notes generally including best wishes and advice for the future.

Barack Obama, for instance, wrote to Trump: "We are just temporary occupants of this office. That makes us guardians of those democratic institutions and traditions - like rule of law, separation of powers, equal protection and civil liberties - that our forebears fought and bled for.

"Regardless of the push and pull of daily politics, it's up to us to leave those instruments of our democracy at least as strong as we found them."

While Trump has decided to ditch many of the traditions for the handover, refusing to even be present for Biden's inauguration, he reportedly has left Biden a letter.

The thing is, we have no idea what he's written - leaving the wild imagination of social media users to speculate.

Sharing a photo of a spoof note, comedian Sooz Kempner tweeted: "Whoa this is the letter Trump left for Biden!!!"

Referencing one of the best episodes of Come Dine With Me to have graced our screens, the handwritten note read: "Dear Joe. You won Joe. Enjoy the power. I hope it makes you happy. Dear Lord what a sad little life, Joe. You ruined my election completely so you could have the power and I hope you can use it and get some lessons in grace and decorum. Because you have all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on. Have a good life! DONALD."

Others took inspiration from Sex and the City, and Berger's post-it break-up that left Carrie absolutely raging in series six.

Someone else's efforts involved a childlike message scribbled in pencil, which said: "I'm angry at you and I'm not talking to you today and tomorrow."

Another, addressed to 'Sleepy Joe', read: "Your a mean cheat, I won bigly. Covfefe, Donald Trump."


Having left his letter for Biden, Trump has now exited the White House, having arrived at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland earlier today via helicopter to issue a speech before flying to Florida.

Speaking to a small crowd, he said: "We have the greatest country in the world, we have the greatest economy in the world, and as bad as the pandemic was [...] we did something that is really considered a medical miracle."

Trump continued: "I just want to say you are amazing people. This is a great, great country. It is my greatest honour and privilege to have been your president.

"I will always fight for you. I will be watching. I will be listening and I will tell you that the future of this country has never been better."

He added: "Have a good life, we will see you soon."
