When somebody invests a lot of time and effort into a project and ends up falling flat on their face, we should feel sorry for them - obviously.
But there's a reason the word schadenfreude exists and that's because people are bastards.
As such, you shouldn't feel like too much of bastard if you enjoy this video of some poor bloke crying... I mean, you are a bastard, but no more so than the rest of us.

The man in the video is Neetu Shutteran Wala, who had run for election as an independent candidate in Jalandhar, India.
The reason he is so bloody upset is because he thinks he only got five votes, which by anyone's standards is a poor showing - let alone a man who has nine family members.
In the interview TV interview, Shutteran Wala can be seen tearing up almost immediately, and it's pretty understandable why he does, given the conversation he is having.
A translation of the interview reads as follows:

Reporter: "Santokh Singh Chaudhary is leading in Jalandhar seat, and we have with us an Independent candidate Neetu Shutteran Wala. So, only five people voted for you?"
Shutteran Wala: "Sir, despite having nine members in the family, I got only five votes."
Reporter: "That means even your family members haven't voted for you."
Shutteran Wala: "No sir, I think the fraud happened in the voting process."
... Hardly the most subtle vote tampering that is it?

It turns out though that Shutteran Wala did get more than five votes though, so you don't need to feel so bad about laughing at him, if indeed you did feel any sense of guilt.
It's not clear where the five votes figure came from, but off the back of footage of Shutteran Wala crying, the figure was bandied about further. However, the Election Commission of India website shows that Shutteran Wala got 856 votes... So it seems there's no need for him to cry fix/disown his family anymore.
Indeed, he may want to dry off his cheeks and give himself a little pat on the back. Sure, he did only manage to get 0.08 per cent of the vote, but that still equates to more than 150 times more than he originally thought.
