Whitney Houston's 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' is a classic that can be played at any occasion: at pre-drinks, down at the pub, in the taxi home and even before a cheeky night cap. But it appears that the 1987 track is also fit for a Royal occasion.

Many were speculating what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would choose to have as their first dance song.

Would it be stiff and traditional like British aristocracy or would the young couple do something more fun?

They chose the latter option and went with 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' to cement their marriage in front of 200 people at Frogmore House, Windsor.

It was the bookies favourite, according to the Daily Express, as the Duchess of Sussex mentioned to Lifestyle Magazine in 2016 that it was her 'happy song'. Apparently, Elton John and Ed Sheeran were close behind on the list for potential first dance songs.

The Telegraph adds that once that tradition was out of the way, Idris Elba got on the decks and busted out some classic bangers. Once the Luther actor was done it was time for celeb DJ Sam Totolee to take over and he was under strict instructions from Prince Harry to avoid cheesy songs.

We're still waiting to hear when The Killers' 'Mr Brightside' played and whether Prince Charles was front and centre singing every word.

While Elton John wasn't picked for the first dance, he did take the time to dazzle the 200-strong audience at the reception with some of his greatest hits, according to the Sun, including 'Your Song', 'Tiny Dance', 'Circle of Life' and 'I'm Still Standing'.

One guest told the Daily Mail that the speech from Prince Charles was definitely a crowd pleaser, saying: "Charles spoke about feeding Harry a bottle and changing his nappy, and then said look how well he turned out. That's about as embarrassing as it got."

Despite being disliked by a bunch of British people, James Corden was invited to be the MC for the night and made sure everything ran smoothly.

For a wedding that apparently broke plenty of traditions, the reception had one more twist as Meghan Markle made a speech where she reportedly thanked the Royal family for welcoming her into their ranks.

Sounds like it was a pretty epic affair and I guess our invites just got lost in the mail or something. Maybe we'll get a few more saucy details about the evening in the days to come.
