Ryanair Announces Massive New Year Sale With Flights From £9.99

Winter sun anyone?

The week or so over the Christmas/New Year period is a brief beacon of joy amid the never ending bleakness that is winter.

Without meaning to burst your bubble, the fact is, once the festivities have come to a close next week, what lies ahead is bad weather and equally grim bank statements.

However, you could get away from all this misery from as little as £9.99 ($13.08) thanks to Ryanair's New Year sale.

The budget airline is offering up a whole host of flights during January for just a tenner, flying from London Stansted, London Southend, London Luton, Manchester, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Bristol, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Exeter, Glasgow and Liverpool.

There's also a load of flights for just a couple of quid more flying from Newcastle, Newquay, Leeds Bradford, Birmingham and Belfast.

So, where do you fancy?

For Londoners, the options are vast (as per), with numerous cities across the likes of France, Spain, Denmark, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland and Sweden just a tenner away.

Meanwhile, Mancs have the choice of Bordeaux, Marseille and Nantes in France, Brussels in Belgium, Billund in Denmark and Gothenburg in Sweden.

Bristolians have the choice of a few very desirable destinations up for grabs in the sale, with flights to Milan, Seville and Malta all just £10.

And if a £10 ticket is a little over your budget, then you can even fly from Edinburgh to Warsaw, Poland, for just £7.99 ($10.46).

A few days in Seville would no doubt improve January.

Of course, as is always the case, the price you will pay will go up considerably if you want to bring on extra luggage, choose a seat, get priority boarding, offset your emissions, have an on board meal, get insurance - but if you don't need anything more than a few pairs of underpants, then you're going to Europe for the price of a few pints.

It's also important to remember that these are one way tickets, so make sure to check that flights back aren't once a month and £650 before you go ahead and book; unless you don't want to come back, that is.

And if January is just a bit too soon for you to plan a getaway (or if even a tenner is a stretch after the excesses of Christmas) then Ryanair also has a load of cheap flights up for sale across the course of February and March.

Highlights of this sale include £9.99 tickets from London Luton to Seville, £16.99 ($22.24) tickets from Manchester or Edinburgh to Prague, and £18.99 ($24.88) flights from Birmingham or Bournemouth to Faro, Portugal.

You can see all the January offers here and all the February/March offers here.

Happy escape, one and all.
