South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have mocked US President Donald Trump with a deepfake video of him reading out a festive children's story.

The clip is the latest episode of their web series Sassy Justice, a new project from Parker, Stone and Peter Serafinowiz that centres on a character called Fred Sassy - an American Consumer Advocate and reporter for a local TV station in Cheyanne, Wyoming.

In the new Trump video, they've used deepfake technology (which replaces someone with another person's likeness) to show the soon-to-be-former president reading 'a story about a very special reindeer, who holds an election in the forest to prove he is the best reindeer'.

As the tale continues, Trump becomes increasingly irate, blurring the lines between the reindeer's plight and his own - seemingly finding parallels between himself and the 'cool, awesome reindeer'.

Trump - whose body is actually that of Serafinowicz - wears a colourful Christmas jumper and a little red hat as he tells the story.

"Once upon a time there was a little reindeer, all the reindeer agreed he was the best reindeer out of all the reindeers," he says.

"The next day a grumpy, old, sleepy-eyed reindeer came into town and started saying, 'You know the reindeer? He's not awesome'.

"'But he is awesome', all the reindeers said."

Trump goes on to tell us that the poor little reindeer ended up losing the election because it was 'rigged'.

"People started cheating, the numbers changed," he continues.

"And they say, 'He's won, he won the election!'.

"And he did NOT win the election. HE DIDN'T WIN BECAUSE THEY CHEATED.

"I fought an honest election, and do you know what happened to the little reindeer? He died.

"And they all cheered his death, it was so sad. Nobody knew what happiness was anymore, and there was no Christmas ever again."

After watching the clip, one YouTuber commented: "Donald Trump doing a Santa Claus impression is something I didn't know I wanted for Christmas."

Another joked: "But... Trump can't read... This is a DEEEEEP FAAAAKE!"

Over on Twitter, a third wrote: "Can Peter Serafinowicz get some kind of award for this? Is it too late to change the Time Person of the Year?"
