Spanish Police Tell Off Man Dressed As A Dinosaur During Coronavirus Quarantine

In a bid to fight the cornavirus outbreak, Spain recently put the country in lockdown, with citizens told to remain in their homes, leaving only to purchase essentials, such as food and medical supplies. But while patrolling the streets of Murcia, in southeastern Spain, police had an unusual encounter when they spotted a dinosaur strolling through a neighbourhood.

Understandably, they gave the T-Rex a right good telling off.

Sharing the meeting on Twitter, a spokesperson for the police force said: "In alarm, pets are allowed to walk accompanied by a person, always with short walks to relieve themselves. Having a Tyrannosaurus rex complex is not covered." (Translated from Spanish.)

Though it's pretty amusing video, it comes at a time when countries around the world are trying desperately to protect their citizens and restrict the spread of the disease.

Spain is one of the worst-hit nations on the planet, second in Europe only to Italy. More than 500 people having died after testing positive for the disease there.

Over the weekend, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced a nationwide lockdown, with schools, restaurants, and shops - except supermarkets and pharmacies - all closed.

He said: "The government of Spain will protect all its citizens and will guarantee the right life conditions to slow the pandemic with as little inconvenience as possible."

Earlier today, British citizens were told not to travel anywhere outside the UK for at least the next 30 days in the latest attempt to stop the spread of coronavirus.

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said that people should not go on holidays or international trips unless absolutely essential, as official advice was updated this afternoon.

The official Foreign Office website has been updated with the latest information and advises the following for those affected: "If you now need to change or cancel your travel plans, follow these steps:

1. contact your airline, travel company, cruise line or other transport and accommodation providers
2. get in touch with your insurance provider
3. continue to follow the NHS coronavirus guidance

While yesterday, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson urged all people who have one of the two main first symptoms of the infection - a new persistent cough and a fever - to stay at home for 14 days.

In a statement to the press, Mr Johnson said that if one person in a household shows the symptoms, all of the household should stay at home.

In the briefing, he said: "Without drastic action, cases could double every five or six days."

Recognising that the country is on the brink of unprecedented upheaval if the disease continues to spread at the current rate, he also said: "Now is the time to stop all non-essential contact with others and all non-essential travel."
