A photograph has gone viral which shows the student just before the fall, which could have killed her.

She was rushed to a local hospital in the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon on Satruday, where medics battled through 11 long hours of surgery.

In the image, she can be seen balancing upside down on the railing with her entire weight. She then slipped and fell down the six stories.

According to reports, this was not the first time Terrazas has been seen practicing yoga on the balcony. Neighbours have said that they have often seen the student trying out the dangerous stunts including using her balcony railing before.

The Nuevo Leon attorney general's office launched an investigation into the incident, which found no structural failings in the building or the balcony and determined that the fall was an accident, with no blame placed on the building or its management.

El Imparcial also reports that her neighbours claim they frequently saw Terrazas performing dangerous stunts on the balcony.
