Supermarket Employee Reveals Speedy Checkout Hack

A supermarket employee has revealed a nifty little checkout hack many of you might find pretty handy. Take a look below:

The viral clip was shared by the official Woolworths TikTok account @woolworths_au, showing that the way you put down your items on the conveyor belt makes all the difference.

Woolworths employee Liam Kirley suggests placing one bag down at a time, followed by the items you would like to include in the bag.

By doing your shop that way, you'll avoid smashing your softer items like bread and eggs, with bulkier items, such as milk and bleach bottles.

"Check out faster with this hack," he said.

"Put one re-usable bag down on the conveyor belt and then put all the items you want in that bag on the conveyor belt and repeat the process."

As simple as it sounds, I'm quite confident that some of us have never considered this technique.

I'm one of those 'throw everything in the bag and cross your fingers' kind of guys... not recommended.

Users seemed to be rather astonished by the TikTok post.

The video was uploaded two days ago (13 Sep) already racking up 567,000 views and 67,000 likes.

One user commented: "All my shopping problems solved."

Another user wrote: "I can't understand when people throw everything on then expect the teller to know which bags they want what ever in, frustrating."

While a third user felt the need to apologise: "Omg now I feel awful for putting my bags on top of my stuff I'm so sorry."

A final user suggested an alternative method: "Too complicated, ima just put the whole trolley on the belt yo."
