Sylvester Stallone Impresses Fans With Photo Of Him Powerlifting Friend

Sylvester Stallone is known for two things, his movies and his muscles - and there is quite a large crossover between the two.

And in a recent post to his Instagram page, the Rocky star has impressed fans with an old photo of himself as a teenager, demonstrating his commitment to working out.

But it's not the usual gym pic. In the snap, Sly - aged 19 at the time - can be seen lifting another man over his head.

In the caption, the actor wrote that when he was young, if he couldn't get a proper workout done, he would lift anything he could find.

The 74-year-old wrote: "A good friend sent me this old photo from when I was 19 years old. Funny, when I couldn't go to a gym I would lift anything just to work out! Crazy right? #chuckzito."

Since the photo was posted, some of his fans have commented to say just how impressed they were with Sly's dedication to fitness.

One user said: "19 yo and you was already a raiser."

Another shocked follower chimed in with: "Just...WOW!! I feel you."

"U just knew what you wanted and that's just another level of crazy," put a third.

While another added: "You are a legend."

Someone you might not expect to be a huge fan of Sly, though, is Emily Ratajkowski.

However, after she gave birth to her first child earlier this month, the choice of name for her new arrival left many wondering whether she was, in fact, a secret super fan of the Rocky franchise.

The model announced she'd given birth by sharing a touching snap of her breastfeeding the new-born - she also revealed the name: Sylvester Apollo Bear.

Yep, she has managed to give her baby both a first and middle name with links to the popular movies, with Sylvester obviously being the name of Rocky star and creator Sylvester Stallone, and Apollo being the first name of Rocky's rival-turned-pal Apollo Creed.

As you can imagine, fans of the movie franchise were quick to point out the connection.

Writing on Twitter, one suspicious user said: "Emily Ratajkowski must be No.1 fan of all Rocky films with that baby name."

Someone else joked: "Emily Ratajkowski literally watched Rocky III and was like I've found the perfect name for my child."

A third person asked: "Is Emily Ratajkowski the number one Rocky stan?"

Now, it's also very much likely that Ratajkowski and Sebastian Bear-McClard didn't put the two together and see the connection to the boxing flicks, but I guess we'll only know for certain if they have any more children and choose Adrian, Paulie or Ivan.
