Teacher Arrested Accused Of Having Sex With Two Students
A teacher in Texas was arrested after being accused of having sex with two high school students.
Police were alerted to reports that Muenster High School teacher Lynn Burge, 32, had sent nudes of herself on Snapchat to a 16-year-old male student last autumn. The pair reportedly went for a drive and drank alcohol before she took him back to her house, performed oral sex and had sexual intercourse with him.
It's been claimed that Burge, who is married with two children, then pulled the same stunt with an 18-year-old adult student in March of this year.
It wasn't until September that the Department of Family and Protective services received an anonymous tip about Burge, which led to a month-long investigation being launched into the claims.
As part of the probe, a Texas Ranger conducted an informal interview with Burge in Dallas, where she was standing in on a school field trip.
According to KXII News 12, it was here that she confessed she'd slept with the 18-year-old and given nudes, booze and a car ride to the 16-year-old. However, she admitted she couldn't remember whether she'd had sex with the younger student or not.
According to reports, a Muenster ISD representative says Burge resigned from her job last week and was arrested and posted $125,000 (£95,600) bond on Friday.
One of the parents, whose child attends Muenster, told KXII News 12: "They are adults and they need to act like it. You send your kids to school every day hoping they are being taken care of, and not being taken advantage of.
"What's going on after school? They should not be giving out phone numbers, and email addresses are fine. But there should not be an exchange on a personal level.
"There's a professional border that you have to keep there between your students and yourself."
If convicted on all counts, Burge could face up to 50 years in prison.
Just days ago, a female teacher over in Florida was arrested for having sex with a 14-year-old student.
According to the Daytona Beach News Journal, Stephanie Peterson, 27, entered the guilty plea as part of a plea deal to one count of lewd or lascivious battery sex act with a child - which is a second-degree felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison, as well as a $10,000 fine.
While a sentencing date has not yet been set, when the former New Smyrna Beach Middle School teacher is sentenced by Circuit Judge Raul Zambrano she faces a minimum of five years and a maximum of 10 years in prison
