Lopez-Murray, who teaches drama at a school in Hialeah, Florida, US, was arrested on Saturday 2 October and later charged with lewd and lascivious battery, molestation, and engaging in a sexual act with a child.

According to a police report, the arrest came after the victim's family found nude photographs and explicit texts on his phone allegedly from Lopez-Murray.

The boy's sister and father saw the text messages between the two that detailed 'how much they enjoyed sex with each other,' stated the report, while the photos of her showed 'exposed breasts and vagina.'

It is alleged that Lopez-Murray had sex with the boy multiple times over two months after she confessed her 'feelings toward' him over the phone in August.

It is also claimed that the 31-year-old would sometimes pick the 14-year-old up from basketball practice and then the two would have sex in her car.

The Miami-Dade school district reportedly said that Lopez-Murray will be sacked in light of her arrest.

Back in 2019, a teacher who admitted to having sex with a 13-year-old pupil was sent to prison for 20 years.

Brittany Zamora was accused of having sex with the teen multiple times in a classroom. She was also accused of asking another student to act as 'lookout' while her and the boy had sex.

According to Arizona Republic, married Zamora spoke during her hearing to say: "I am a good and genuine person who made a mistake and regret it deeply.

"I lived my life respecting and trying to obey every law. I'm not a threat to society by any means."

In court she apologised to the victim, who wasn't at the hearing, and to his family, as well as her own.

A victim impact statement from the mother read: "Brittany Zamora betrayed our trust and changed Victim A forever. Before, he was an innocent child, and now she stole his innocence from him. I hate Brittany Zamora for what she did to my son and family."
