A teenager has spent two years saving as much money as possible to buy his mate an electric wheelchair.

Brandon Qualls has spent years wheeling himself through the halls of his high school, but his mate's kind gesture will ensure his life will become a little bit easier.

The Caddo Hills School District posted a photo of the pair, writing: "We would like to share some love. Today Tanner Wilson, Caddo Hill's Senior, surprised his fellow classmate Brandon Qualls with a motorized wheelchair.

"We are so grateful for the heartfelt surprise from one Indian to another. Tanner has been saving for two years to show his appreciation and friendship for Brandon."

When you're in high school, any money - whether it be from your parents or part-time job - is precious, so the idea that Tanner used his cash for something meaningful is nothing short of awesome.

Speaking to CNN, Tanner said: "He's just been a really good friend and I wanted to do him a favour. I just felt like I needed to do it. Brandon, he's just always been there for me."

Tanner's mum, Colleen Carmack, revealed he had gone through some rough times at school, so getting to do something nice for someone made him feel great.

"They both deserve the attention because they're both great and wonderful kids," she told CNN.

"He's always been about everybody else and not himself. We let him know, you get nowhere being mean."

Colleen said that the act of kindness had changed her son and made him want to get out more, and he's even set his sights on college after school ends.

Commenting on the Caddo Hills School District Facebook post, she added: "That's my sweet son. I am one proud momma!"

Brandon also admitted the new wheels will go a long way.

"My arms would get really tired," he told News9 TV.

"They came in and my face just blew up. I was just crying everywhere. I was like; 'Wow I can't believe he did that for me.'

"It's been my dream to just have one of these. And my dream came true."

It's these little acts of kindness that restores your faith in humanity. A bloke saw his mate desperate for something and he worked hard to make it happen. Congrats Tanner, we're sure that Brandon is thrilled about his new wheels.
