TikTok's latest trend, the 'Immortal Snail' question, has become viral and users are obsessed. Check it out below:

If you've been having a scroll on TikTok over the past few days you might have come across the 'Immortal Snail' question.

WTF is that, you might ask?

Well, last week, a meme went viral because it referenced a 2014 hypothetical joke scenario with regards to a snail that is trying to kill you.

Right, so, in other words, as explained on KnowYourMeme, the Immortal Snail refers to "a hypothetical scenario in which a person is given millions of dollars and made immortal in exchange for being hunted down by a snail with a fatal touch for the rest of their existence."

Its origin came on a 2014 episode of the Rooster Teeth Podcast, featuring hosts - Gus Sorola, Gavin Free, Matt Hullum and Burnie Burns.

The group 'discuss a hypothetical scenario in which a person receives $10 million in exchange for having a snail follow them wherever they go for the rest of their life that will kill them upon being touched'.

Many TikTokers have been posting the trend with some explaining what it is, whilst others are referencing it via TV and films.

Take a look at some more below:

To give it some context, the viral vid above received over 360,000 likes in just two days with over 2,400 comments.

One user wrote: "bro this has to be one of the best memes in years."

Another user agreed and simple wrote: "Advanced humour."

To be fair, I'm not sure 'advanced' is the right word but for something you might think would be an acquired taste, that doesn't seem to be the case.

So far #immortalsnail has a whopping 95.8 million views on TikTok and users are absolutely loving it.

It's 2021 people and times are, for sure, changing.
