Twitter users reckon they've spotted the moment a weightlifter 'farted' while deadlifting 200kg - despite his claims that it was merely him accidentally blowing a 'raspberry'.

A YouTuber who goes by the name of Armz Korleone shared a video on Twitter, in which he deadlifted 200kg with just 'three fingers' on each hand.

The YouTuber, whose content promises 'savage workoutz, art and bantz', wrote: "Deadlifting wit my whole hands? Na we usin' 3 fingers now (6 in total). 200kg 6 fingers deadlifts."

He also began the clip with a casual handstand.

Many of Armz' fellow social media users praised his pretty incredible feat, with one saying they had 'mad respect' for him.

However, not everyone was concentrating on the accomplishment of his deadlift.

"Was that a fart at 14 seconds?" someone asked.

Someone else said: "Lol the little toot on the first deadlift."

Another wrote: "I hope there's enough ventilation in that gym to let out that fart or else."

But Armz - who has 383,000 followers on Instagram - claims he didn't fart, and that the noise people could hear was simply him 'breathing out'.

Replying to one Twitter user, he said: "No looool I breathed out n blew a raspberry."

LADbible asked him if there was anything he wanted to say to the haters, but Armz wasn't fussed, simply saying: "Let them believe what they wanna believe."

While Armz' mysterious noise has been the subject of some (arguably misplaced) embarrassment, it's nothing compared to what happened to another weightlifter last year.

Gaelle Nayo Ketchanke, a French weightlifter, was attempting to lift 110kg - her career personal best - in the women's 76kg category at the European Weightlighting Championships in Batumi, Georgia.

She had failed to complete the lift earlier, but on her third attempt, while she managed to get the bar above her head, her left arm buckled and gave way under the immense weight.

The French team at the event later confirmed Nayo Ketchanke's left arm was broken in two places during the incident.

Amazingly, she still walked away with a bronze medal for her 103kg opener.

Taking to Instagram after the painful accident, Ketchanke wrote: "I'm coming out of these European Championships not in the best of ways, with a 107kg wrenching elbow injury after winning the bronze medal at 103kg.

"I received a lot of support messages that made me feel good and we are waiting for my return to France to do further tests.

"I want to thank the medical and technical staff of the Federation who responded very quickly and who are by my side. My coaches and my colleagues from the France team. I will come back to you for news."
