Two people are dead after a gunman opened fire on a Texas church during a service that was being livestreamed on the internet.
The attacker was pictured standing up inside the religious building at 10am at the West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement in Fort Worth and unloaded two shots.
Some people inside the church ducked for cover and others rushed towards the man with weapons.
A third person has been transported to hospital.
Minister Britt Farmer confirmed the attack happened while the service was being livestreamed and is devastated at the loss of life.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement: "Please pray for any victims and their families, this congregation, and the law enforcement officials at the scene."
Texas Governor Greg Abbott added: "Places of worship are meant to be sacred, and I am grateful for the church members who acted quickly to take down the shooter and help prevent further loss of life."
