US Democrats Announce First Stages Of Impeachment Against President Trump

An impeachment inquiry has just been launched against US President Donald Trump.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has announced the inquiry, which is the beginning part of an impeachment, over claims Trump spoke with Ukraine's president about investigating the son of Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden.

"The President must be held accountable. No one is above the law," Speaker Pelosi told a press conference.

Once the inquiry is done, it will recommend things that Trump could be impeached on and then the House will vote on those recommendations.

President Trump has responded to the inquiry in a barrage of tweets.

"Such an important day at the United Nations, so much work and so much success, and the Democrats purposely had to ruin and demean it with more breaking news Witch Hunt garbage. So bad for our Country!" he said.

"Pelosi, Nadler, Schiff and, of course, Maxine Waters! Can you believe this?

"They never even saw the transcript of the call. A total Witch Hunt!"
